AMA Online Education gained the right to pick first overall for the second straight year when the PBA D-League holds its annual rookie draft today at the PBA Cafe in Metrowalk, Ortigas.
The Titans hope to make good use of the selection as they look to improve on their roller-coaster performance last season in the draft proceedings that features 201 applicants.
Coach Mark Herrera used the top pick to select former La Salle star Jeron Teng, who led AMA to the quarterfinals of the Aspirants’ Cup.
The Titans, however, lost Teng the following conference and suffered an early exit in the Foundation Cup.
Wangs Basketball-Letran and Batangas-EAC will pick second and third, respectively, followed by Centro Escolar University, Zark’s Burgers-Lyceum, Gamboa Coffee-St. Clare, Jose Rizal University, Marinerong Pilipino, Che’Lu Bar and Grill-San Sebastian, Mila’s Lechon, Powerball-St. Benilde, University of Perpetual Help and Akari-Adamson.
Cignal, which ruled the Aspirants’ Cup and Foundation Cup, decided to take a leave of absence.
University of the East star Alvin Pasaol and Far Eastern University’s Arvin Tolentino are among the big names who have applied for the draft.
