The sixth most wanted person in Caloocan City, who allegedly raped and eventually impregnated a minor, was nabbed on Friday, a belated report said.
Sr. Supt. Jemar Modequillo, Caloocan police chief, said Juanito Santos, 57, security guard, of East Bagong Barrio, is accused of raping his 17-year-old neighbor twice, last March 5 and June 14.
The minor is now pregnant following the last incident, police said.
Armed with a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Raymundo Vallega of Caloocan City Regional Trial Court Branch 140 for a charge of rape, authorities from the Caloocan City police arrested Santos around 9 a.m. in an establishment along Abad Santos Avenue in Manila, where he was working.
Santos was released after at least five days of being jailed for the case last September. But a warrant of arrest was issued as he was not attending the hearings, police said.
Meanwhile, Santos denied raping the minor and claimed that the minor fell in love with him.
“I gave her money. But, there’s nothing intimate happened. I am just so kind to her,” said Santos. (Kate Louise B. Javier)
