Backpacks banned at parade

The Metro Manila Film Festival reminded spectators of the annual film festival parade on Dec. 23 in Muntinlupa City to bring transparent bags, instead of backpacks, for security purposes.

Noel Ferrer, MMFF spokesperson, said some of the big stars and celebrities with movies participating in this year’s film festival would attend the MMFF Parade of Stars.

“The parade would start at 2 p.m., Saturday, from the Muntinlupa Sports Complex up to the Filinvest grounds,” said Ferrer. The parade would take three hours and would run 5.5 kilometers.

He said road closures would be implemented on the route of the parade. “Public should bring transparent bags for security purposes. Around 1,500 personnel from the Philippine National Police, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, and barangay volunteers would secure the place,” said Ferrer.

The MMFF Parade of Stars will start from Muntinlupa Sports Complex going to Buendia St. and Centennial Ave. It will pass through the extents of the National Road from Barangay Tunasan to Alabang. (Anna Liza V. Alavaren)
