A tricycle driver was wounded after being stabbed by his fellow driver over a passenger in Tondo, Manila Saturday morning.
Manila Police District (MPD) Station 7 commander Police Supt. Rolando Gonzales identified the victim as 40-year-old Gilberto Canoza who is a resident of Molave Street in Tondo.
Meanwhile, the suspect was identified as Edmund Sablaon, 36, of Tayabas Street.
Investigation showed that the two are both tricycle drivers operating within Barangay 221, Zone 21.
Canoza and Sablaon were both at the tricycle terminal about 4:45 a.m. when the victim was called by a passenger.
Sablaon got irked because the victim did not follow their line. A confrontation between the two ensued until Sablaon stabbed Canoza in the left side of the body. The suspect, meanwhile, had contusion in the head.
The victim was rushed to Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center and is now in a stable condition. (Jamie Rose R. Aberia)
