President Duterte on Sunday said he has received information that members of the New People’s Army are molesting women in the hinterlands following the collapse of the peace talks between the government and communist rebels last month.
The President, speaking at the 7th LGBT Davao’s Year-End Gathering in Davao City, said he does not want to talk to the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front anymore.
“I have been receiving reports kayong mga komunista, you’re roaming around everywhere and some of you, I have some reports from anywhere, you are into molesting or sexually abusing ‘yung mga tao sa bukid,” Duterte said.
“Hinihipo ninyo ‘yung mga babae at ‘yung iba, ninanakaw ninyo ang asawa. Is that the kind of revolution you are into?” he added.
Duterte said he cannot tolerate this act and reiterated his firm stand against the communist rebels, saying he will give the fight they want. (Argyll Cyrus B. Geducos)
