Multi-titled mentor Ramil De Jesus and the core of his La Salle women’s volleyball will have little time to enjoy the Christmas break.
That’s because De Jesus and the Lady Spikers are now in the middle of their preparation for the coming UAAP season where they are determined to win a third straight championship.
“Walang pahinga, pero okay lang sa akin. Tuluy-tuloy naman kami ng ensayo sa La Salle,” said De Jesus shortly after steering F2 Logistics to a breakthrough championship in the 2017 Philippine Superliga Grand Prix.
De Jesus is hoping that the experience they gained in the PSL will serve them in good stead in the UAAP.
Among those who saw action with F2 Logistics were Majoy Baron, Kim Dy, Desiree Cheng and Dawn Macandili.
The four players proved they can be at par with veteran players in the Superliga particularly Baron, Dy and Macandili, who captured individual awards.
Baron took home the Second Best Middle Blocker award, Dy won the Second Best Opposite Spiker trophy, and Macandili pocketed the First Best Libero plum.
La Salle, however, will be without versatile setter Kim Fajardo, who already completed her playing years.
De Jesus, however, is confident his players can adjust well even without their ace playmaker.
“Alam naman naming every year, palakas nang palakas yung ibang teams. Siyempre kami rin, hindi naman kami tumitigal sa pag-improve at pag-adjust,” De Jesus said.
