Collegiate volleyball heats up on Feb. 3 when the 80th season of the UAAP men’s and women’s tournaments unfurls at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Three-peat-seeking women’s champion La Salle starts its campaign against University of Santo Tomas at 4 p.m. main game, while Adamson University and National University open their respective bids at 2 p.m.
Also spicing up the day are two men’s matches pitting last season’s bridesmaid NU against Adamson at 8 a.m., while UST takes on La Salle at 10 a.m.
The La Salle Lady Spikers are once again installed as the team to beat this season after four of their key players saw action for PSL Grand Prix champion F2 Logistics.
Aside from Ateneo, UST is the other team expected to give La Salle a good fight.
The Tigresses, for one, also took part in the PSL – semi-pro league.
Meanwhile, action resumes the following day at the same venue with last year’s women’s finalist Ateneo going up against fancied Far Eastern University at 4 p.m.
