Tropical storm “Vinta” (international name “Tembin”) has further weakened as it moved towards Misamis Oriental and Zamboanga del Norte yesterday.
As of 1 p.m. yesterday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said Vinta was spotted in the vicinity of Marawi City, with maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 110 kph, and moving west at 20 kph.
Tropical cyclone warning signal No. 2 remains hoisted over Misamis Oriental, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Misamis Occidental, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, and Zamboanga Sibugay.
Signal No. 1 is still hoisted over Southern Leyte, Bohol, southern Cebu, Negros Oriental, southern Negros Occidental, Siquijor, Agusan del Sur, Bukidnon, Davao del Norte, Dinagat Island, North Cotabato, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Camiguin, Compostela Valley, northern Davao del Sur, including Davao City, and Maguindanao.
Sea travel remains risky over the seaboards of areas under tropical cyclone warning signals.
