Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman William “Butch” Ramirez yesterday suspended the funding for the Philippine Karatedo Federation pending the outcome of investigation on the alleged cheating.
“Effective today we are suspending all the funding of the PKF,” said Ramirez in a press conference held at the Philsports Complex in Pasig City.
The chairman already asked the assistance of the National Bureau of Investigation to look in to the controversial issue.
Aside from suspending financial assistance to the association, the government sports agency likewise ordered PKF official and karatedo coaches not to communicate to any of the athletes.
Most of the national team athletes are living in the quarters provided by the PSC inside the Philsports complex.
