Allow me to make a little bit of “yabang’’ about myself and horseracing in the country.
I have been going to races – with erpat of course in 1934 even before I was enrolled at the Lincoln Elementary School then located on España St., Sampaloc, Manila.
So there, thank you at Maligayang Pasko sa inyong lahat!
Now back to the races at Santa Ana Park in Naic, Cavite.
Nabanggit ko na kahapon pero uulitin kung muli kasama ang respective owners: Naririto ang 12 entries but 11 in numbers sa tampok na Juvenille Championship Race: S.C. Stockfarm Inc.’s couple entry’s Royal Signal/Soto Grande; H.S. Esguerra’s Aphrodisiac/Speedmatic; A.R. Santos’ Sweet Dreams/Disyembrasis; Cool Summer Farm’s Facing Dixie; C. Dan Tan’s The Barrister; JC. Dyhenco’s Goldsmith; E.C. Dela Cruz’s Victorious Colt, and L.M. Tan Jr.’s Misha/Prosperity.
Set to be disputed at a distance of 1,600 meters, the winner here gets P1.5 million while the second thru the fourth placers shall receive P562,500, P312,500 and P125,000, respectively.
The winning horse owner, trainer, and jockey shall receive a trophy sponsored by Philracom and the Breeder’s Purse of P75,000 to the breeder of the winning horse.
We have 11 races today na kinapapalooban ng two sets 2 Winner-Take-All, two sets ng Pick-6, three sets ng Pick-5, at ang tanging Pick-4 covering the usual last four races.
