LUCENA CITY, Quezon – One died, two went missing, and nine were rescued after a motorized banca capsized while sailing at the territorial water of Barangay Bonbon in Panukulan, Quezon, Sunday afternoon, reports reaching the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) here said.
Quezon PDRRMO said that based on MDRRMO reports, the casualty was identified as Nancy T. Sambudio, while missing brothers John Rex and John Darren Cabuyao, and seven of the nine rescued were Joel Tayo, John Harver Tayo, John Leonard Tayo, Rodel Flores, Marlon B. Agos-agos, Patrick and a certain “Rocky.”
They were on board a motorized MBCA Dreams Nicole, owned by boat captain Joel Tayo, sailing along territorial seawater of said place from Sitio Bungliw, Barangay Rizal, Panukulan town heading toward Infanta town, when it was hit by big waves due to tropical storm “Vinta.” (Danny Estacio)
