See you at the movies starting today! That’s the “battle cry” of this column, urging all to patronize the eight entries to the Metro Manila Film Festival – actually also shown in the provinces.
There are eight entries. One by one now.

‘ANG PANDAY’ – Directed by Coco Martin, who also plays the title role. His tribute to his idol, Fernando Poe Jr.. the original “Panday.” Big in terms of story, star, and production values.

“MEANT TO BEH” – Family picture starring Vic Sotto and Dawn Zulueta. The first movie together of Vic and Dawn. For general patronage.

“ALL OF YOU” – Adult romance topbilled by Jennylyn Mercado and Derek Ramsay. Said to be their most daring.

“SIARGAO” – Set in the tourist attraction, noted for surfing and other water activities. Starring Jericho Rosales, Erich Gonzales, and Jasmine Curtis-Smith.

“DEADMA WALKING” – Heartwarming dramedy, with Joross Gamboa and Edgar Allan Guzman as “beshies” (best friends) in life and death and beyond. Based on a Palanca- Award winning play.

“GANDARRAPIDDO” – Subtitled “The Revengers Squad,” with Vice Ganda, Daniel Padilla, and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach. Superheroes out to save the world.

“HAUNTED FOREST” – Horror is back in MMFF, with a four-star young cast.

“ANG LARAWAN” – Musical drama set in Intramuros at the onset of World War 11. Based on Nick Joaquin’s classic play, “A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino.” Topbilled by Joanna Ampil, Rachel Alejandro, and Paulo Avelino.
