ACTOR Joross Gamboa has admitted that he was never faithful to his wife during the early years of their marriage.
“Hindi ako naging honest in all those years. The early years. Not all those years. Eto ‘yung simula nang kinasal kami,” said Joross, during an interview on “Tonight With Boy Abunda” on ABS CBN.
But Joross said that everything changed when he finally discovered God.
The 33-year-old actor got married to his longtime girlfriend Kathy Kimberly Sagam in 2014. They have two children JaceKyler and John Kody.
Joross appeared on the late-night show to promote his latest movie “Deadma Walking,” one of the official entries to the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival. The movie opens on Christmas Day. It also stars Edgar Allan Guzman.
Asked if his marriage was affected by the sex video scandal, Joross said: “No. Kasi secured na ang relationship namin with God.
Do not worry about the things you cannot control,” he said.
Joross rose to fame via the reality-based talent competition called Star Circle Quest on ABS CBN in 2004.
Along with Sandara Park, Roxanne Guinoo and Melissa Ricks, Joross was one of four runners-up to the ultimate winner Hero Angeles in the talent search.
Joross said that he never dreamt of being a leading man in the movies.
“Hindi ko masyadong iniisip ‘yun. Hindi ko pinangarap na maging leading man. Dati kasi mas gusto kong maging komedyante. Mas gusto kong maging character actor;
“Gusto kong gumanap ng kontrabida. Ayoko ‘yung gwapo ako kapag may gaganapin ako. Bilang artista, kailangan kong magampanan ‘yung magandang materyal,” he said.
When asked how he got better as an actor, Joross said: “Years are better than books!
Aside from show, Joross said that he and his wife are busy with other businesses.
And nag-i-invest kami ngayon sa Brunei, nagsu-supply ng mga call cards sa mga Pinoy doon,” said the actor, in another interview on the Kapamilya network. (Robert R. Requintina)
