The Internal Affairs Service (IAS) has started conducting investigation on the misencounter in Mandaluyong City that led to the death of two civilians.
IAS Inspector General Alfegar Triambulo said they are currently waiting for the results of the paraffin test on all the cops who responded and ballistic examination of their guns to determine who among them fired the service firearms for the full-swing probe.
Almost 40 spent shells were recovered in the area where the shooting occurred, an indication that the vehicle was heavily fired upon by the police although there were reports that the barangay security officers of Barangay Addition Hills also fired their guns.
Ten policemen were subjected to paraffin tests while their service firearms, including two M16 rifles, were subjected to ballistics examinations. (Aaron Recuenco)
