An elementary school in Quezon City lost over P50,000 worth of valuables which the school principal discovered on Friday morning.
Police said Chelma Cabatic, 45, principal of Libis Elementary school at Barangay Blue Ridge, discovered the alleged theft around 6:25 am.
According to authorities, Cabatic left the school around 4:45 pm on Thursday and reportedly closed all the rooms apart from locking all the gates before leaving.
Upon her return the following day, Cabatic was surprised to see her office open then later on discovered the alleged burglary.
Cabatic said among those missing were an HP laptop worth P22,596, a LED TV worth P12,500, an Acer laptop, projector, CCTV monitor and CPU, a Samsung mobile phone worth P9,000 and a Canon camera worth P8,000.
Authorities said the suspect might have entered the campus by destroying the padlocks before fleeing with the stolen gadgets.
Authorities are conducting further investigation of the incident. (Gabriel Agcaoili)
