AFTER featuring the hanging coffins at Echo Valley, “Matanglawin TV” featured Ganduyan Museum which holds artifacts that are part of Sagada’s culture.
There are the so-called Death blanket, Tinag-tago, Bul-ul, and other crafts all done in black. This is because of the fire burning inside traditional Ifugao houses.
Furthermore, such houses have little ventilation and small windows.

Ganduyan caretaker Lester Aben told us that the museum was built by their family in order to preserve the culture of Sagada. He said that the youth should understand and preserve their culture because it is part of their identity as a people.
Furthermore, they talked about food. Etag is a meat that is salted and smoked from one to three weeks. Etag won’t rot even after two years even without putting it in the refrigerator.
Someone tried eating etag but it was too hard to eat, almost like leather.
Salt and Pepper Restaurant serves etag pizza.
