Kiefer Ravena had seen it coming, and did his best to prepare for it. Still he was almost powerless when it came to pass.
Even before he made his PBA debut with the NLEX Road Warriors, Ravena knew there will come a time he will struggle with his game, and that there will be a need for him to adjust playing in the pros with his new team.
After two solid games, the struggles Ravena had feared came in a loss to Phoenix Fuel as he bled for points and struggled from the field against a defense that took out not just his own perimeter game but nearly the entire NLEX squad’s offense as well.
“It’s something you can’t avoid, everybody goes through it,” said Ravena of his performance as NLEX absorbed its first defeat, 102-95, in the PBA Philippine Cup last Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
