Tanduay Alab Pilipinas, out to redeem itself from a stinging midweek home loss, faces a huge test containing the new world imports of Mono Vampire tonight when they square off in the ASEAN Basketball League at Stadium 29 in Bangkok.
Alab’s resolve will be tested in the 7 p.m. match with the host Mono Vampire reinforced by 7-foot-5 Sam Deguera of Malta and former PBA import Mike Singletary and powered by Fil-American guard Jason Brickman, former UAAP standout Paul Zamar and Thai national team standout Chitchai Ananti.
The presence of Deguera, who averaged 21.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in wins over the Formosa Dreamers and Westports Malaysia Dragons, is something Alab has been worrying since Wednesday’s 90-80 defeat to the Singapore Slingers at the Filoil Flying V Centre that ended a three-game winning streak.
