A 60-year-old woman died while three others were reported missing after a landslide hit a residential area in Tacloban City Saturday night.
According to Eastern Visayas regional police spokesperson Chief Insp. Maria Bella Rentuaya, the cadaver of 60-year-old victim Delia Carson was retrieved at around 2:30 a.m. yesterday following a search and rescue operation launched after the incident that occurred at around 8:30 p.m.
“Her cadaver was discovered under their collapsed house,” said Rentuaya.
Carson’s house was among the eight houses buried in a landslide at the Quarry District in Tacloban City. Nine families were affected by the landslide.
Rentuaya said local authorities are still looking for three victims identified as Zerjean Amancio Hernandez, his daughter and a certain Alex.
The official said seven families composed of 22 people were evacuated as a result of the landslide.
Tacloban City was among those affected by typhoon Urduja late last year. More than 40 people died as a result of flooding and landslides in eastern Visayas.
