The Bureau of Customs turned over yesterday to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency P128.9- million worth of various illegal drug tablets which can cost up to P1.2 billion in street value.
Customs Commissioner Isidro Lapena disclosed that the seized illegal drugs were consist of Valium, Tamazepam, and unlabeled tablets among others.
The drugs were shipped to the country from Pakistan on different dates in January.
The parcels arrived at the Central Mail Exchange Center at the Warehouse in Ninoy Aquino International Airport. CMEC then forwarded the parcels to the Surface Mail Exchange Department in Delpan, Port Area, Manila, where Philippine Post Office personnel found out that it contained suspicious items.
