University of Perpetual Help stakes its clean record today when it squares off with Emilio Aguinaldo College in the NCAA men’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan City.
Game time is at 9:30 a.m. with the Altas seeking their fourth straight victory in as many outings in the hopes of joining pacesetter Arellano Chiefs atop the leaderboard.
Eager to duplicate its title feat two seasons ago, Perpetual Help got off to a hot start with straight-set wins over Lyceum, San Beda and San Sebastian.
Altas’ veteran mentor Sammy Acaylar is confident they can sustain their run of success with Ronniel Rosales and Rey Taneo leading their offensive onslaught.
The tandem are currently running second and third in the attacking department and are expected to deliver once more after combining for 27 points in their 25-19, 25-21, 25-21 win over San Sebastian four days ago.
But EAC is unfazed.
Coming off a hard-earned 26-24, 21-25, 24-26, 25-21, 16-14 win over Jose Rizal University Bombers last week, the Generals are eager to improve their 2-1 mark.
Other men’s match pit Letran (0-3) and Lyceum (0-3) at 2 p.m.
In women’s play, EAC tries to crawl out of the dark hole when it meets Perpetual at 11 a.m.
