Eva Psychee Patalinjug, one of the front-runners for the 2018 Bb. Pilipinas beauty pageant, is 100 percent ready for the prestigious contest but not for a new relationship.
“There is no really perfect love at all. You really have to work it out when it comes to relationship,” said Patalinjug during an exclusive interview at the Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City.
“If it’s meant to be, then it’s meant to be. But I have learned that don’t make someone your world. Kasi you will really forget who you are and your goals in life. That’s what I’ve learned,” the Cebuana beauty queen said.
Patalinjug, 23, said that she has moved on from her previous relationship as she focused on the pageant.
“I’ve moved on! Sabi ko nga nuon, I’ll focus on Binibining Pilipinas and ang korona ang magiging boyfriend ko!” she said.
Patalinjug also said that guys should not be intimated with beauty queens.
“Some guys will be intimidated, some will be afraid kasi baka ‘yung norm ng mga tao na ang beauty queen mahirap girlfriend,” she said.
Asked about the qualities she wanted for a future partner, Patalinjug said: “I want someone who is not intimidated by me and someone who knows how to have a real conversation with me.”
“I’m not looking for a model or an artista. I want someone who is very responsible and knows what he wants in life. I really want a guy who can give quality time to me. And then faithful and loyal, of course! Who doesn’t want that? I want that kind of guy! He doesn’t have to be guwapo at all,” said Patalinjug.
“Pero I don’t wanna be a hypocrite and ‘yung may hitsura rin naman. I don’t want him to be ugly of course,” said Patalinjug, who is also taking up law at the University of San Carlos.
Patalinjug believes that this year’s competition for 2018 Bb. Pilipinas beauty contest will be tough because they are many qualified girls for the six titles.
“I’ve seen a lot of beautiful girls and parang as the term goes, ‘duguan’ ang laban ngayon. Pero Cebuana ito kaya palaban!” she laughed.
Just like the 39 other candidates in the 2018 Bb. Pilipinas pageant, Patalinjug said that she is aiming for the Bb. Pilipinas-Universe title.
“Of course ‘Universe.’ I know that people want somebody for the ‘Universe’ title but it’s still a competition and it’s anybody’s game,” she said, when asked about the title she wanted to win at the grand coronation night on March 18.
“At the end of the day, it’s the hand of the judges that will prevail. So it’s anybody’s game. Dapat hindi ka ma-pressure. Just do your best! Para sa akin kasi I’m competing with myself. I just don’t wanna focus with the pressure outside and the girls, I find them beautiful. Pag hindi ako nag focus sa sarili ko, I tend to forget the track that I’m in. Madi-distract lang ako,” added Patalinjiug.
