Amid the uproar over her recent school recognition, Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Margaux “Mocha” Uson has returned the Thomasian Alumni in Government Service award to her alma mater.
Uson said she hopes some Thomasians would finally stop bullying UST Alumni Association Inc. president Henry Tenedero about the award, adding critics should just “bully” and “curse” her instead.
The controversial award was returned to the UST alumni group just before Uson joined the President Duterte’s visit to India yesterday.
The UST Alumni Association earlier bestowed the award to Uson and several other government officials who are graduates of UST. The award was reportedly meant to challenge the recipients to live the Thomasian values while in public service.
Some groups, including the UST Student Council, however, denounced Uson’s award, saying she did not deserve the recognition for allegedly spreading fake news.
