San Sebastian blasted Letran, 25-9, 25-22, 25-18, and gained a share of third place in the NCAA women’s volleyball tournament yesterday at The Arena in San Juan City.
Skipper Joyce Sta. Rita fired 18 points to lead the SSC belles to their third straight win and fourth overall in six games.
She was ably supported by Nikka Dalisay and Daurene Santos who chipped in 12 and 11 points, respectively.
In all, San Sebastian tallied 37 hits to hand Letran its fourth loss in six games.
Meanwhile, Emilio Aguinaldo College banked on its consistent serves as it eked out a 25-23, 22-25, 22-25, 25-23, 15-12 victory over struggling Mapua.
The Lady Generals unloaded 17 aces – five each from Jaylene Lumbo and Ladeisheen Magbanua – to end their five-game losing spell and clinch their first win in the season.
