Jiu jitsu fighter Meggie Ochoa will be competing in two international tournaments next month, both crucial on her preparation for this year’s Asian Games in Indonesia.
Ochoa, a three-time world champion in the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF), will see action in the Thailand National Pro on Feb. 17-18 and a week after she will compete in the Fukuoka International Jiu Jitsu Championship in Japan.
“Both are big tournaments, and importante siyempre in preparation for the Asian Games,” said Ochoa yesterday. “For us this year, yun naman ang pinaghahandaan namin, not only us but all the athletes seeing action in the tournament.”
“It’s important lalo na siguro for us jiu jitsu fighters because this is the first time that the sport will be played in the Asian Games,” added Ochoa.
