University Perpetual Help and Jose Rizal University shoot for the remaining Final Four berths today when they take on separate opponents in the 93rd NCAA women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan City.
The Lady Altas, currently at third spot with a 6-2 record, are expected to give their all as they try to book a return trip to the semifinals in their 12:30 p.m. showdown with the St. Benilde Lady Blazers who are also looking to boost their own bid.
The Lady Bombers, tied with the Lady Blazers at fourth to fifth spots with identical 5-3 cards, are in for a relatively easy outing as they go up against the eliminated Lyceum Lady Pirates (3-4) at 11 a.m.
In men’s play, Perpetual seeks a sweep of the eliminations and an outright Finals berth when the Altas tangle with the St. Benilde Blazers at 2 p.m.
The Altas have won all of their first eight matches and dropped only a single set so far, underscoring the dominance they’ve been flaunting under the tutelage of veteran mentor Sammy Acaylar.
