KAPAMILYA star Louise delos Reyes has said that she has patched up her differences with her mother after she decided to live on her own for six years now.
“Siguro ‘yung best muna, ang dami kong natututunan from other people. Kasi ako gusto kong nilalabas ‘yung sarili ko.
Gusto kong nag e-explore and since ‘yung parents ko masyadong probinsya, alam nilang lumalabas akong mag-isa,” said Delos Reyes, when asked about the best and worst part of being independent, during an interview on “Tonight With Boy Abunda” on ABS-CBN.
Delos Reyes, 25, has said that her family was surprised when she decided to live independently.
“I’m very sheltered hangga’t sa naging college po ako, sobrang hatid sundo po ako sa school, bahay school, bahay school, or work. ‘Yun lang talaga ang ginagawa ko;
“So nung nag-21 po ako, sabi ko, gusto kong ma-try. Ano ba talaga ‘yung mundo? Kasi bago ako mag-21, hindi ko alam na merong bills. Alam ko na merong binabayaran pero hindi ko alam na monthly magbabayad ka, ganyan,” said Delos Reyes, who appears on the afternoon teleserye “Asintado” on ABS CBN.
Delos Reyes also admitted that she does not know how to cook and would only settle for take-out or packed food.
“Tapos hindi rin ako marunong magluto. ‘Yung pride ko, nung umalis ako sa bahay namin, hindi ako magtatanong sa mama ko. Kasi my mom, sobrang galing nyang magluto. ‘Yun ang worst part. Hindi ako nakakakain ng maayos, kasi palaging fast-food, take out or ‘yung canned goods. ‘Yun ‘yung kinakain ko,” she said.
The best part of being on her own is exploring alone. “Ang sarap sa pakiramdam.”
Delos Reyes said that she has resolved the issue with her mom during one of her birthdays.
“Nung first year lang po, hindi kami OK with my family kasi hindi nila gusto na umalis ako from Cavite tapos bigla akong magme-Metro Manila. Parang sobrang layo na for them.”
A former Kapuso star from 2003 up to 2016, Delos Reyes said that she transferred to the Kapamilya network to try different roles.
