The Philippines’ leading retailer of home improvement and construction supply products, Wilcon Depot, successfully held the 4th Wilcon Cup at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club (WWGCC) in Mandaluyong City last January 18, 2018.
Over a hundred Wilcon partners, valued suppliers, media partners and select customers participated in Wilcon’s annual invitational golf tournament organized by the retail giant. With a day filled with the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie, all participants enjoyed and had a meaningful time playing the sport with their fellows in the industry.
An awarding ceremony was held later that afternoon at the banquet hall of the WWGCC hosted by longtime Wilcon partners Johnny Litton and Tessa Prieto-Valdes. Aside from the main tournament’s winners, Wilcon also gave out special raffle prizes to the delight of all attendees.
The Wilcon Cup also serves as a fundraising to extend financial assistance to the company’s chosen institutions. After giving her opening remarks, Wilcon SEVP-Chief Operating Officer Ms. Rosemarie Ong handed the checks to the representatives of the Wilcon Foundation and Crocodylus Porrosus Philippines who were this year’s beneficiaries.
The ceremony was concluded with a speech from Wilcon Founder and Chairman Emeritus Mr. William T. Belo who thanked all those who gave their full trust and support to Wilcon throughout its 40 years in the business.
“As we aim to not just continue in providing quality service but to further improve it for the benefit of our valued customers, we earnestly hope that the support and trust you’re generously extending now will never cease and will remain as strong as concrete,” Mr. Belo added.
Adones Baluyut, Joey Santos and Randy Banzon won titles in different categories.
Baluyut fired a net three-under par 69 to capture the Class A title while Santos had a net 71 to win in Class B. Banzon submitted a 72 to bag the Class C title. Santos was named overall champion with the lowest net score.
Noel Flores (70) placed second in Class A, Nelson Lu (71) in Class B, Henry Wee-Ebol (72) in Class C.
“We’re so delighted and appreciative with the turnout. This is our way of showing them (partners) of how much we appreciate their support and patronage over the years,” said Rose Ong, the senior executive vice president and chief operating officer of Wilcon.
“It’s a great thing to kick off the year. The industry influencers as well as partners, they’re very supportive, they really value the friendship and the relationship. This golf tournament, it keeps on getting bigger, and we’re hoping for more great things to come this 2018,” added Ong.ill live on.
