Joint operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) seized yesterday morning millions of pesos worth of unregistered beauty products in Quezon City.
Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar, QCPD director, said that boxes of whitening products, cosmetics, and other health supplements were found during their implementation of search warrants in two houses in Quezon City.
Senior Inspector Paterno Domondon of the QCPD Special Operatives Unit applied for the search warrants on the belief that a violation of the Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009 has been committed or is about to be committed by respondents Lilian Marte, and Michelle Cablayan, of Barangays Paltok and Bahay Toro, respectively.
Upon implementation of the warrant from the Regional Trial Court Branch 82, operatives were able to confiscate boxes of glutathione pills and injectibles, and other beauty products.
It was found out that the said products have no certificate of product registration from FDA and were illegally sold and distributed by the respondents to their customers and even various clinics in Metro Manila.
Arrested during the operation in Barangay Paltok were Marte, and her two delivery personnel identified as Daniel Castillo and Viel Somidos.
Apprehended in Barangay Bahay Toro were Mylene de Vera, secretary of Cablayan, Rommel de Vera, the warehouse keeper, and deliverymen Mark Roces, and Jeffrey Oserio.
Police are now locating Cablayan.
