THREE EXAMPLES – Highspeed has said time and again that Sharon Cuneta and Maricel Soriano are the last movie queens, identified with the ‘80s. Those who followed them are more of multi-media stars. Aside from doing TV and movies, they are also into commercials (print and broadcast, also billboards) and records and concerts.
Here are three examples of multi-media stars: Regine Velasquez, Anne Curtis, and Sarah Geronimo.
Regine and Sarah are of course excellent singers and concert artists, aside from being fine actors on TV and big screen and are also top endorsers of this and that product or service.
How about Anne? Well, she is no singer but she still managed to mount concerts at the Araneta Coliseum and the provinces with success.
Both married. Regine and Anne are taking it easy these days. Regine’s in her 40s and Anne in her 30s. Sarah in her late 20s, still single. But perhaps not for long. When do we hear wedding bells for Sarah and Matteo Guidicelli?

ALMOST BUT – Vina Morales could have joined the ranks of Regine, Anne, and Sarah. She acts, sings, and dances very well. Lovely too. But somewhere along the way, her star faded…for one reason or the other.
Donna Cruz is another “triple threat,” but she gave up showbiz in the name of love. She now belongs to Cebu upper crust.
Same can be said of Jolina Magdangal. She didn’t quite reach the status of Regine, Anne, and Sarah. But she’s still active on TV.

BIG STARS – Although they are no singers, also big stars (and top endorsers) are Angel Locsin, Marian Rivera, Judy Ann Santos, Claudine Barretto (in hiatus though), Bea Alonzo, Toni Gonzaga (but also a singer of limited range),
Same can be said of Lovi Poe and Jennylyn Mercado, who have recordings to their names.
Yasmien Kurdi, Sunshine Dizon, Jodi Sta. Maria are also popular.
Promising names on the showbiz horizon are Julia Barretto, Janella Salvador, Barbie Forteza (very fine actress), Bea Binene.
