The weather bureau said it is not yet summer despite the warm weather felt in the country in the past few days.
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration weather forecaster Lorie dela Cruz said a break in the northeast monsoon or “amihan” caused warm weather in some parts of the country.
Dela Cruz said the country can expect the resurgence of amihan over extreme Northern Luzon, which could bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in Batanes and the Babuyan Group of Islands over the weekend.
However, the effect of amihan will gradually weaken and will only prevail over Northern Luzon in the coming days, she added.
“There is now a minimal chance of having a cold weather in Metro Manila,” she said.
