AFTER 10 years, broadcaster Steve Dailisan left GMA News and Public Affairs as he thanked those who helped him realized his dream as a broadcast journalist.
“Allow me to thank you all for making me realize the dream of becoming a Broadcast Journalist,” said Dailisan in a post on Instagram last Sunday.
He continued: “I am beyond blessed to have been part of an award-winning news organization. Each day has been a memorable and learning experience.”
“Sa lahat ng inspirasyon at daan para ako matuto sa industriyang ito, Maraming salamat! Hangang sa muli at sa huling pagkakataon, mula sa tahanan ng katotohanan, Ako po si Steeeeeve Dailisan. Officially signing off,” said the Kapuso broadcast journalist.
Dailisan did not say if he will transfer to another network.
In 2017, there have been rumors that Dailisan wanted to leave the broadcast industry to pursue his No. 1 dream – to become a pilot.
Asked about his dream during an event in 2017, Dailisan just smiled and did not elaborate.
Dailisan joined GMA News and Current Affairs after he graduated at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines in Sta. Mesa, Manila.
“Ten years with GMA News is very fun and exciting. It opened a lot of doors of opportunities. Binigyan nila ako ng chance mapa-igi ko ‘yung career ko as a broadcast journalist,” he said in an exclusive interview.
Many may not know it but Dailisan spent his days-off teaching future journalists at PUP.
“Malambot ang puso ko sa mga working students. Mahirap talagang magtrabaho habang nag-aaral,” said Dailisan.
“Madami rin naman akong binibigyan ng grade na one. Kasi dapat pag deserving ka at naghirap, binibigay ko naman ang nararapat. Hindi ka naman kailangan sobrang galing para makakuha ng mataas na grade. Makikita mo naman kung may potential talaga sila,” he added.
Dailisan, 31, said he is a strict professor.
He also gave tips to students who want to join the broadcast industry.
“Kung gusto nilang maging broadcast journalist, dapat matibay ‘yung foundation nila. Pasensyoso rin sila kasi mahirap talaga ‘yung trabaho.’’
