2 p.m. – Perpetual vs Wang’s Basketball-Letran
4 p.m. – Batangas-EAC vs Go for Gold-CSB
Wang’s Basketball and Go for Gold try to come up with strong follow-ups to their big victories the last time out as they take on separate rivals in the 2018 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The Couriers, built around the core of NCAA contender Letran Knights, are aching to move up to solo sixth spot as they take on the unpredictable Perpetual Help Altas in the 2 p.m. opener.
While Wang’s Basketball is considered as favorites following a 73-55 thumping of Jose Rizal University last Monday, Couriers coach Jeff Napa is not taking their initial task lightly, knowing Perpetual is eager to get back on track after suffering a 78-73 loss to Gamboa Coffee Mix.
“Hindi namin sila pwedeng i-take for granted,” he stressed. “Very promising ‘yung team nila at kailangan talaga naming paghandaan ng mabuti.”
Go for Gold is also looking to pick up from where it left off after it pulled the rug from under pace-setting Centro Escolar University, 91-89, in overtime last Thursday, an incredible performance that coach Charles Tiu considered as a “statement win.”
But the Scratchers need to buckle down to work anew as they look to gain more momentum and more ground in playoff race in their 4 p.m. encounter with the struggling Batangas-Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals.
