MAY ‘K’ SIYA: I asked rising actor Kristoffer Martin, he with the standout K in his first name, what he thought was his edge over other young actors his age.
He seemed surprised by my question as he groped for the right words. Finally, he said he couldn’t think of any.
Not that Kristoffer lacks the skills, the savvy, the good looks and good PR required in the biz. He does possess quite a number of those.
‘I guess that’s not for me to say,’ he added.
Kristoffer recently renewed his contract with GMA, his home the past eight years.

HE WANTS TO BE BAD BOY: Truth is, the 23-year old Olongapo native is one of GMA Network’s reliable actors. He has proven himself in a few teleseryes and now wants to be known as a villain!
‘I don’t know, but playing contravida seems to be my calling for now,’ he told a small group of interviewers recently. The moreno actor said he loves to be challenged by off-beat roles as he is, by nature, maloko.
‘I prefer edgy roles, after going through a series of acting workshops conducted by both local and international coaches.’

SINGER BEHIND PAULIT-ULIT: The subject, being contravida, seemed off-tangent to the afternoon’s main menu, which was to announce Kristoffer’s second single.
Yes, the young man is also a singer and songwriter to boot. At age 12, he competed in ABS-CBN’s Little Big Stars just so he could be seen on TV, he shared.
Kristoffer Martin’s new single “Paulit-Ulit” topped the charts on the week of its launch recently, trumpets GMA Records. The song now plays as theme of Fight For My Way, GMA Telebabad’s new Korean drama.
Kristoffer said the song’s selection as theme of the Korean series has inspired him to keep writing, composing.

AN ALBUM NEXT: “I write songs, and I’m trying to learn how to arrange also. Kaso ang mga nasusulat ko, puro masasakit.”
He wonders why, considering that his life has been generally blessed and smooth sailing. While he has quit his Entrepreneurial course at San Beda momentarily, he’s quite happy with the way GMA has laid out a master plan for his career.
He hopes to put out an album next.
Paulit-Ulit is available for downloading and streaming on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and all leading digital stores worldwide.
