NATIONAL Youth Commission Chairperson Cariza “Aiza” Seguerra has called on the youth to participate in nation-building activities instead on things that will divide the country.
“Youth is energy. ‘Yun ang malakas kasi bata ka pa, single ka pa. With your passion and idealism, sana let’s all work towards nation-building,” said Seguerra during the courtesy call of Miss Philippine Youth 2018 Nadine Bornilla to the government official in his office in Quezon City recently.
Nadine, 16, was accompanied by her father Dr. Jumel V. Bornilla, Manix Genabe, of Immunoboosters Co. – The Medical Clinic; and members of the pageant media.
Seguerra also cited Nadine for serving as an inspiration to the youth.
Nadine said that her advocacy is helping the poor people. She also presented a plaque of appreciation to Seguerra for helping the youth. Nadine also vowed to support the ideals and projects of NYC.
Seguerra also recalled those days when he competed in “Eat Bulaga’s” Little Miss Philippines in 1987. “Actually me and my wife Liza Dino took part in pageants when we were younger. She joined Mutya Ng Pilipinas and Miss Philippines Earth and I know especially in the recent years that behind the crowns and sashes of every beauty queen, there’s a genuine concern on both humanitarian and environmental issues.”
Now in Grade 9 at the Colegio San Agustin in Makati City, Bornilla said that she wants to take up pre-medicine in Australia soon. Later, she will pursue medicine in London.
