Anyone but Sen. Antonio F. Trillanes IV could look into the bank records of President Duterte in a bid to show he has no ill-gotten wealth, Malacañang said yesterday.
Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said the President was ready to show the public that his wealth would not exceed P40 million.
Trillanes,” he added.
Confident there was nothing irregular with his finances, the President recently said he was ready to give a “written permission” to anyone who wants to scrutinize his bank records.
Excluded from access to the President’s finances, however, were his political rivals due to concerns they might launch a “fishing expedition” against him.
“Ang deposits ko will not go beyond P40 million. Bakit gawain ninyo akong utusan?” Duterte said.
“But anybody of you here, would want to take a look, tell me now, I’ll give you a written permission. And if it exceeds P40 million, I will step down,” he added.
