ACTOR Ricardo Cepeda has revealed that he and partner actress Marina Benipayo see to it that they have a division of labor when it comes to household chores.
“Whenever we have free time, we go out to spend quality time. S’ya nag-e-aerobics or gym. After her workout, malamang magla-lunch kami sa labas. We spend a lot of time even at home,” said Cepeda during an interview at the launch of G-Webphone at Decagon, Silver City in Pasig City recently. He has been tapped to endorse the new technology.
G-Webphone is a technology developed and owned by SPVTOP International Inc. It is an online telephone which has the capability to call or text any offline mobile phone, landline telephone, and satellite phone anywhere in the world.
“Wala kaming maid so talagang division of labor kami. Ako cooking. Dati what they keep asking from me is adobo,” said Cepeda, who will soon be seen in a new Kapamilya teleserye starring Enchong Dee.
Asked how he learned to cook, Cepeda said: “My mother used to give me tips. While we were growing up, meron kaming lola, hindi sya maganda magluto. Parang bitin ‘yung lasa.
“So one time nagsa-suggest ako na ‘lola baka pwedeng dagdagan ng ganito.’ Nagalit sya at parang sabi nya ‘feeling mo ang galing mo magluto! Ikaw na magluto!’
“Ako nga ang nagluto at nasarapan naman lahat! A lot of them (dishes) walang pangalan kasi kung ano lang makita ko dyan sa ref like karne at haluan ko lang ng kung anu-ano lang dyan.
“Tapos ‘yung mga bata nagre-request sila, sabi ulitin mo! Kaso hindi ko mapa-promise na maulit eksakto kasi kung ano lang ang makuha ko sa ref, ‘yun lang ang niluluto ko,” the actor said.
Cepeda said that Marina, who washes their clothes, loves sinigang na liempo. “Dapat may todo-todong gulay ‘yun. Gusto nya ng maraming gulay, kangkong! S’ya na ang naglalaba kasi baka maubos ko lang ‘yung detergent.”
Prior to the upcoming teleserye, Cepeda has wrapped up the bio-pic “Honor: The Legacy of Jose Abad Santos.”
Cepeda, 53, said that the historic film will not be shown in commercial theaters. It will only be presented in schools and in private organizations.
