Warm weather in the country is expected as the dominant weather pattern shifts from the cold northeasterlies or “amihan” to the warm easterlies this week.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration, the northeasterlies will continue to dominate until tomorrow then gradually dissipate by mid-week.
Today until tomorrow, partly cloudy skies with passing light rains will be experienced over Northern Luzon, eastern parts of Cagayan Valley, and Region 4-A or Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms mostly in the eastern portion of Visayas and Mindanao in the afternoon or evening.
PAGASA pointed out that the subtropical high pressure area originating from southeastern China will draw eastward to far southwest of Japan in the western North Pacific Ocean from Tuesday until Thursday.
This will eventually cause a change in wind pattern into easterlies all throughout the archipelago, it added.
