Former UFC middleweight contender and current Bellator heavyweight Chael Sonnen believes that ex-two-division champion George St-Pierre will be returning to the Octagon soon.
Also, Sonnen claims he knows who St-Pierre’s opponent will be. He is no other than Conor McGregor, a multi-division champion in the UFC.
“It will be against Conor in what will be the biggest fight in MMA history,” Sonnen said during his “Beyond The Fight” podcast.

A super-fight between St-Pierre (26-2) and McGregor (21-3) has been in the air ever since the Canadian came out of retirement. However, the possibility of a GSP-McGregor showdown holds high odds given the status of the two fighters.
McGregor has yet to step back inside the cage since making his professional boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather Jr. – a fight he lost via technical knockout (TKO).
“The Notorious” has refused to defend his lightweight title, forcing the hand of UFC president Dana White to possibly strip him of it. If stripped, White plans to put it on the line and award it to the winner of the UFC 223 match pitting Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov.
For his part, St-Pierre made a triumphant return to the UFC when he captured the middleweight championship from Michael Bisping despite a four-year absence. GSP would eventually vacate the title a month later after being diagnosed with with ulcerative colitis.
