KAPAMILYA star Sofia Andres has defended herself from criticisms that she is a difficult person or someone with an attitude which irked some members of the press and bloggers.
“Kasi ganito po ‘yun. Pag hindi ako naka smile, honestly, mukha talaga akong suplada,” said Andres, during an interview on “Tonight With Boy Abunda” on ABS CBN.
Andres, one of the stars of the new primetime television series “Bagani,” said that many people misinterpret her for being anti-social or not accommodating.
“Nami-misinterpret lang po ako kasi hindi ako ma-chikang tao. So siguro ngayon, I have to change it na kailangan ma-feel nila na very accommodating. Kumbaga ma-feel nila na I care,” she said.
Andres, 19, also said that her mother is most affected when she is being bashed on social media.
The teen star admitted that she is afraid of being rejected.
“Yes. Iyun po ang kinakatakutan ko. Kasi before, I had a trauma. Kasi sa school na-encounter ko po ‘yung lahat ng girls sa classroom, ayaw sa akin, ‘cause I was doing fashion shows, commercials that time;
“Feeling nila mayabang ako ‘cus parang ‘uy artista yan!’ Na-misinterpret ba? Nagstart akong mag-approach sa kanila.
Wala. Oh my God! Ang sakit nya,” she recalled.
When asked if she felt she was being bullied in school, Andres said: “Yes. It’s coming from there. Parang madaming times talaga na even if I say hi! there are some people talaga na parang, ‘sino ba ‘to? Starlet.’”
“Should I say hi! to them ba? Or should I be like very accommodating? Kumbaga kailangan ko pa bang maging open kung ginaganun ako minsan?
“Pero hindi naman pala dapat nilalahat kasi may mga tao talagang okay. Pero kung ganun sila, I respect them,” Andres said.
Andres also promised to change herself for the better.
“Pero ngayon I’m trying to change myself na. Walang mawawala akin if I say hi! kahit i-reject nila ako,” she said.
Sought to give a message to her bashers, Andres said: “I love you more!”
