Games Today
(The Arena, San Juan City)
8 a.m. – UP vs FEU (Men’s)
10 a.m. – La Salle vs UE (Men’s)
2 p.m. – UE vs Ateneo (Women’s)
4 p.m. – NU vs Adamson (Women’s)
Ateneo guns for its third straight win even as National University seeks to end its two-game losing skid when they collide against separate foes today in UAAP women’s volleyball at The Arena in San Juan City.
The Lady Eagles eye their seventh win in 10 outings in their 2 p.m. confrontation with the University of the East Lady Warriors, while the Lady Bulldogs are slightly favored in their 4 p.m. showdown with the dangerous Adamson Lady Falcons.
Ateneo is hoping to follow up its convincing victories over Far Eastern University and NU last week that gave them a 6-3 mark – the same record of the Lady Bulldogs.
Defending champion La Salle, meantime, needs to win one of its four remaining games to clinch a Final Four berth.
The Lady Spikers are toting a league-leading 8-2 mark.
As in their previous two games, the Lady Eagles will bank heavily on their defense to repeat over the Lady Warriors.
That task falls on Maddie Madayag, Kat Tolentino and Bea De Leon.
Aside from her defensive prowess, Tolentino is also expected to shine offensively along with Jho Maraguinot and Jules Samonte.
Despite losing to Adamson in five sets last week, the Lady Warriors are determined to give their fancied rivals a hell of a game.
The Lady Warriors are at the bottom of the standings with a 2-7 mark despite being the best receiving team – thanks to libero Kath Arado.
