In-form Che’Lu Bar and Grill-San Sebastian takes on eliminated Batangas-Emilio Aguinaldo College today at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City, with the Revellers determined to secure a quarterfinals berth.
The Revellers, toting a 6-3 mark, will come into their 1 p.m. showdown favored to stretch their winning streak to five as they bid to join early entrants – Centro Escolar University-Akari-Adamson and Marinerong Pilipino – in the six-team playoff cast.
The Generals, who have dropped all but one of their eight matches so far, are hoping to come up with an all-out performance as they look to play the spoilers’ role.
Clashing in a no-bearing main match at 3 p.m. are also-ran AMA Online Education and Jose Rizal University.
The Titans, with only a win to show after eight tries despite making several roster changes earlier, will be the slight favorites over the Heavy Bombers who have been on a downward spiral as well, their last loss – a 91-81 decision – dealt by Zark’s Burgers Jawbreakers last Thursday.
All eyes will be on the Revellers, who are expected to show up with fresh legs from a 16-day break after scoring a 79-73 win over Gamboa Coffee Lovers, one of the teams still in the playoff hunt, last March 6.
Defense will be Che’Lu Bar and Grill’s main weapon after it allowed just 73.25 points against its last four victims while scoring an average of 84.25 points. (Jerome Lagunzad)
