13 HOPEFULS – ABS-CBN recently introduced to the entertainment media 13 hopefuls, new and fresh faces who belong to 2018 Star Magic Circle.
In the words of PR Thess Gubi, “…unique mix of individuals from various arenas.” Theater actress, acting workshopper, athlete, showbiz royalties, reality show products. Ages range from 15 to 22.
By virtue of their showbiz roots three are the most familiar.
Leila Alcasid – daughter of Ogie and ex-wife Michelle Van Eimeren of Australia; Donny Pangilinan – son of Maricel Laxa and Anthony; Tony Labrusca – son of Boom.
STARDOM – The 10 other hopefuls:
Zonia Mejia, Patty Mendoza, Anna Luna, Chantal Videla, Markus Paterson, Karl Gabriel, Yasmyne Suarez, Henz Villaraiz, Daniela Stranner, Charlie Dizon.
Needless to say, all 13 have one target: stardom.
Now, who among them will make it?
Let’s wait for a year or so. By that time we’ll know.
RICO & AJ – The media event reminds this columnist of two products of Star Magic, the late Rico Yan and AJ Perez.
When AJ was introduced to the press some years back, Ethel Ramos and I congratulated his parents for having such a promising son. We told them AJ reminded us of Rico Yan, then already very popular.
Who would ever know that AJ and Rico would be gone too soon?
The parents of Rico have recovered from the tragic loss. How about AJ’s parents? Wherever they are, hopefully they are all right.
