Beware of fake Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) traffic enforcers who confiscate driver’s license.
The MMDA issued the warning after receiving reports that bogus enforcers are in the metropolis.
Jose Arturo “Jojo” Garcia, MMDA OIC general manager, said that the agency learned about such after a motorist from Mandaluyong City was given a fake ticket.
The driver said that he was travelling along EDSA when a man posing as an MMDA traffic enforcer flagged him down and issued a ticket. His drivers’ license was confiscated by the fake enforcer.
But when he went to MMDA recently, he was shocked upon learning that the ticket given to him was a fake one.
“The agency does not have the motorist’s driver’s license. The person who apprehended him was not a legitimate traffic enforcer of the agency,” Garcia said.
The motorist said that he did not doubt the man because he was wearing a uniform of MMDA traffic enforcers.
