Reigning Reina Hispanoamericana Teresita Ssen Winwyn Marquez is still a Kapuso!
This was revealed by Marquez during an exclusive interview at the send-off for Cynthia Thomalla, the country’s representative to the Miss Eco-Tourism beauty contest in Egypt, held in Timog, Quezon City last Friday.
“Kapuso pa rin!” said Marquez when asked if she would renew her contract with GMA 7 which expired last February 15.
Arnold Vegafria, manager of Marquez, said that the beauty queen will sign her new contract next week.
“She will sign a three-year contract for GMA 7. She will have a teleserye where she will be the lead star,” Vegafria said.
Marquez, 25, has been loyal to GMA 7 since she entered television in 2010. Last year, Marquez appeared on two Kapuso television series – “Encantadia” and “Mulawin vs Ravena.”
She also said that she wanted the people to call her Teresita instead of Winwyn but she believes that it will take time before her fans would get used to it.
“Winwyn pa rin ang tawag nila sa akin, Gusto nilang Winwyn ang itawag sa akin kasi pang-mature raw ang name na Teresita. Siguro it will take time. Hindi naman agad mabibigla yan,” said Marquez, daughter of veteran showbiz starsAlma Moreno and Joey Marquez
Marquez is also in a relationship with fellow Kapiuso star Mark Herras.
Asked about marriage plans, the beauty queen laughed and said: “Ipapasa ko muna ang korona!”
Marquez is the first Filipina and Asian to win the Latina-dominated Reina Hispanoamericana pageant in Bolivia in November 2017.
