Three Chinese nationals were arrested for illegally detaining their comrade inside their occupied room in a hotel casino in Paranaque City.
Southern Police District (SPD) spokesperson Supt. Jenny Tecson identified the arrested suspects as Chen Jing Nun, 32; Zhang Zhen Qing, 35; and Chuan Fang, 37; all billeted at Room 1832 of Okada Resort and Casino Manila on Aseana Avenue, Tambo, Paranaque City.
Tecson said the victim was identified as Dong Yun Hao, 28, billeted at Room 1941 of the same casino resort.
The SPD said Hao was rescued by members of the Paranaque City Police Community Precinct 2 (PCP2) and the security personnel of the Okada Manila Internal Security at about 8:45 p.m. inside the room of the three suspects.
Tecson said that the rescue was made after the hotel front desk called up the PCP2, informing the police that the Chinese national was illegally detained.
Members of the PCP2 immediately coordinated with the hotel’s internal security for the rescue of Hao.
Hao told police that he was illegally detained inside the room of the three suspects for his failure to pay his debt amounting to R5 million.
Hao further claimed that he had been inside the room of the suspects for four days before he was rescued.
The police also said that during investigation, the three suspects failed to show them their Chinese passport and they are now coordinating with the Chinese Embassy.
