HONG KONG – For the second time in almost a year, President Duterte is visiting overseas Filipino workers here following his participation at the Boao Forum for Asia 2018 in Hainan, China last Tuesday.
The President arrived here at 11:34 p.m. Tuesday and is set to meet around 2,500 members of the Filipino community tonight.
The Chief Executive was received by Philippine Consul General in Hong Kong Antonio Morales and Deputy Consul General Roderico Atienza. Fiona So, Chief Officer (Visits) and Honorary Aide-de-Camp Lam Kam-Kwong also welcomed Duterte.
Duterte, in his pre-departure speech, said that he will report to the Filipinos in living and working at the autonomous territory of China the developments at home and listen to their concerns and hopes.
Duterte assured OFWs that his administration is doing its best to ensure that every Filipino will have a comfortable life.
