A father stabbed his two young sons to death while inside their home yesterday in New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City.
The suspect was identified by police as 42-year-old Ariston Nacion who was shot dead by responding policemen who were also attacked by the troubled man.
The victims were identified as Jivo Nacion, 13, and Lance Nacion, 6 who both died on the spot after they suffered multiple stab wounds in different parts of their bodies.
In a report submitted to Southern Police District Chief Tomas Apolinario said Nacion was said to have spoken with her wife through phone who was working abroad moments before the incident.
The conversation between the couple apparently did not end well as Nacion reportedly got enraged after the phone call, leading to the gruesome crime.
Police received a report about a disturbance in the crime scene located along Pangilinan street where the two kids were reportedly heard crying.
As authorities arrived at the area, they spotted the frenzied suspect who attempted to stab the responding law enforcers. Police shot Ariston who died from two gunshot wounds to his chest.
Police are eyeing jealousy as one of the motives of the killing.
According to Taguig Assistant Chief of Police for Operations Clarence Gomeyac, the suspect’s wife told police that Ariston was telling her to come back home from working in Hong Kong. Ariston also told her that if she would not go home, he would kill their two sons.
Meantime, the suspect’s mother Rosario denied that his son was a drug dependent, noting that Nacion was a loving father to his kids.
The bodies of the three are now at the Rizal Funeral Homes, while the case remains under further investigation.
