Police have arrested three people in Ibaan, Batangas after they were caught slaughtering dogs for their business of cooking dog meat delicacies.
A police report reaching Camp Crame in Quezon City identified those arrested as Miguel Cleofe, Ariel Laparan, and Nestor Atienza, all residents of Barangay Sabang in Ibaan town.
During the raid conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), operatives found 12 slaughtered dogs.
The suspects were reportedly caught while on the act of slaughtering a dog. The CIDG team arrived in time to rescue four dogs inside a cage. Appropriate charges under the Animal Welfare Act are now being readied against the suspects.
