Stablemates Jerwin Ancajas and Mark Anthony Barriga both expressed readiness not to disappoint their fans as they rev up for crucial fights next month.
During a presentation yesterday by TV5, which is backing the two punchers, Ancajas said his buildup for his mandatory defense of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) super-flyweight crown against Jonas Sultan on May 26 in the US is right on target.
Barriga, the 2012 London Olympian, is set to face hard-hitting Gabriel Mendoza of Colombia on May 13 at the SM Skydome in Quezon City in an IBF minimumweight title eliminator.
The two have been training at Joven Jimenez’ Survival Camp in Magallanes, Cavite, and their trip to Manila was a rarity as they are set to resume their preparations today.
“I would like to put on a great show for the fight fans,” said the soft-spoken Ancajas, whose date with Sultan will be the first all-Filipino world title fight in almost a hundred years.
